Each of the plans administered by PERS has provisions for
the reemployment of retirees receiving a benefit under such
plan. In addition, some plans have regulations which offer
further guidance on the reemployment of such individuals.

Mississippi
Highway Safety Patrol Retirement System (MHSPRS)
There is no provision for limited reemployment where the retiree
can draw both MHSPRS benefits and be employed in an MHSPRS
covered position. Thus, if an MHSPRS retiree returns to employment
covered under the MSHPRS, the member will have his retirement
benefits terminated and will again become a contributing member
of the plan.
Note however, that an MHSPRS retiree can be employed by a
PERS employer in a non-MHSPRS position and continue to draw
MHSPRS benefits. |
