Retiree Insurance
The Public Employees' Retirement System of Mississippi (PERS) recognizes the need for retirees to have access to cost effective health and life insurance coverage. To meet this need and for the convenience of its retirees, PERS withholds premiums from monthly pension checks for life and health insurance plans sponsored by the state of Mississippi and by the agency. The state-sponsored plans are administered by the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration. The PERS-sponsored group term life and medical insurance plans are underwritten and administered by Monumental Life Insurance Company of Cedar Rapids, IA.
